Wide Open Experiences
Three nights in the mountains with your friends. Padel coaching every day, a stunning guest house on the river, and your choice of a guided rock pool hike or time with horses.
This is for you if...
You and your friends have been saying "we should do something together" for months, and you're ready to actually make it happen.
You've been curious about padel and want to learn it properly in a small, supportive group with friends, not in a crowded clinic with strangers.
You've been so busy caring for others that you've lost touch with what you actually need.
You feel invisible, like the world has moved on and forgotten to ask how you're doing.
You know there's more to this chapter, but you don't know where to start.
You crave connection, adventure, and something that makes you feel alive again.
You want to try something new but feel unsure if it's "for someone like you."
Your Daily Game
A fun, accessible game for anyone wanting movement, freedom, and fresh energy.
Padel is the fastest-growing sport in the world, and there's a reason: it's wildly fun, incredibly social, and far easier to pick up than tennis. Whether you've played racquet sports before or have never picked one up, these sessions are designed for absolute beginners.
With three 40-minute sessions spread across the day, you'll build skill and confidence at a comfortable pace. By day three, you'll wonder why you didn't start sooner.
Choose Your Second Chapter
Every day starts with padel coaching. Then you choose your afternoon: time with horses on a beautiful farm, or a mountain hike to hidden rock pools.
Pathway One
Gentle self-exploration in a beautiful farm setting, guided by the presence of horses.
Horses are masters of reading energy. They don't judge, they don't pretend, and they don't lie. In these intimate sessions, you'll stand in the presence of a horse and discover what it mirrors back to you.
You might find emotions rising that surprise you. You might discover strength you didn't know you had. The horse holds a grounding, safe space where you can explore parts of yourself you've been too busy to notice. Each session is guided by what the group needs on the day, making every experience deeply personal. There may also be the opportunity to ride, adding another dimension to your time with the horses.
Pathway Two
A moderately challenging mountain walk that rewards you with crystal-clear spring pools at the top.
You walk through pristine mountain landscape, gentle climbing and walking your way upward until the world goes quiet and you arrive at untouched spring pools that feel like a secret.
It's the kind of hike where you feel proud of yourself for getting there, and the reward is pure mountain water waiting for you at the top.
Your Three Nights
Day 1 / Monday, May 12
Days 2 & 3 / Tuesday & Wednesday
Day 4 / Thursday, May 15
Where You'll Stay
A 4-star riverside retreat in the heart of Montagu, surrounded by the Langeberg mountains. Warm hosts, beautiful interiors, and the kind of peace that makes three nights feel like a different life.
Gardens flowing onto the Keisie River with mountain views all around.
Solar-powered, eco-friendly, with a pool, honesty bar, and art-filled interiors.
Montagu's best restaurants, galleries, and shops are steps from the front door.
Your Guides
Equine Experience Facilitator & Retreat Leader
With over 20 years of experience working alongside horses, Tamsin's journey began as a trainer before evolving into her true calling: facilitating equine-guided experiences that help people see themselves clearly for the first time.
She speaks the language of horses fluently. She reads their body language, understands what they're reflecting back about you, and translates it in a way that lands with clarity and compassion. Under her guidance, you'll feel safe enough to explore, honest enough to feel, and supported enough to grow.
Wide Open Experiences is her vision: creating spaces where women can step away from the noise, reconnect with themselves, and discover what becomes possible when they stop holding back.
Padel Mentor & Experience Host
Mark specialises in introducing complete beginners to padel, particularly those new to racquet sports or returning to activity later in life. Through small, personalised groups, he combines structured coaching with a strong focus on the mental side of the game, helping players unlock their potential through confidence, mindset, and clear understanding.
His immersive experience builds clean technique, consistent ball striking, and game awareness from the very first session, crafting a confident, flowing, and truly enjoyable entry into the game. Guests leave with a solid foundation in key shots, glass play, rules, and scoring, feeling capable, confident, and ready to step onto any court.
The Setting
Tucked into the Langeberg mountains along Route 62, Montagu is one of the Western Cape's best-kept secrets. A village of Victorian architecture, vineyards, hot springs, and a pace of life that invites you to slow down and pay attention.
Just two hours from Cape Town, it feels like another world entirely. Between sessions, explore local restaurants, art galleries, farm stalls, and hiking trails. The town itself becomes part of the experience.
